Description
My idea behind the iron clad images I have posted here is that their skin looks as if it were forged from steel or iron. It is the idea that women look soft but are actually quite strong and can withstand a great deal in this world. The extension of that in this particular image is that women should be the owners of their own destiny and sexuality. They hold their own keys; the hands represent the protection of self. Woman in many societies don�t hold that seemingly simple freedom.

You're so right Donna! Women have gotten a very short shrift and still do the farther East in the world we go! Lovely and successful series of "steel" images you've created! I love your little bio story about being a kid in search of cool bird pictures and their reluctance to allow you....so typical of everyone's shared youthful vitality! Your an artist kid!
